14.02 – sounds like Valentine’s Day, but it is Yannick Nodler’s time over 110m hurdles, which he already ran in the U18 category. He was also quite successful as a pole vaulter and all-around fighter. With the “C coach license for athletics”, he then laid the logic foundation for making his passion, sport, his profession.
Among others, he worked for the Swiss Olympic Medical Center in Basel, conducted performance diagnostics at the Olympic Base Rhineland and supervised the training of amateur and professional athletes. At the same time, he studied at the German Sport University Cologne, where he was an intern in 2013 and 2014. He completed his bachelor’s degree with a thesis on “The Effect of Squats and the Use of Electrostimulation on Endurance Performance”. He found his test subjects at the Institute of Movement and Neurosciences – including the basketball players of the Cologne Rheinstars – and used the knowledge he gained from them accurately for his master’s thesis “The Effects of Eccentric Strength Training on Strength and Sprint Parameters”.
Since 2017 he has been an important part of the Hamburg HYCYS team. As coach and bike fitter he accompanies and supports our athletes professionally on their way to their personal best performance. And as far as his own sporting ambitions are concerned: According to his Instagram profile, Yannick seems to become a water sports enthusiast. Get them wet, Yannick!
