Jean Surmont

A high performer with passion. Jean loves to
challenge himself to the max – and to motivate
others. And many a person has already profited
from this.

Love, passion, Jean: the born and bred Hamburg boy is burning for triathlon. Although it wasn’t his first liaison: Jean was a passionate football player for 18 years – and also had longer affairs with ice hockey and table tennis on the side. A real jumpy personality, who – no surprise – was also a member of a trampoline club.

But bounce aside, he is a man of endurance and straightforwardness: He consistently pursued his studies in sports science at the University of Kiel and completed them with a bachelor’s thesis on “Performance Prognoses in Running Based on the Subjective Feeling of Exertion”. He is currently working on his master’s degree and researches the influence of respiratory muscle training using a breathing resistance mask on performance during running.

Jean never runs out of breath when collecting qualifications: He is a “B license fitness trainer”, “exercise manager B for rehabilitation sports internal medicine and orthopaedics” and worked for more than two and a half years as a personal coach in functional strength training. Now he is “to Huus” (at home) again – in the Hamburg HYCYS team. And we love it. Let’s get to work, Jean!
