We can hardly count the podium finishes of his career. And this even though Boris Stein did not start competing in triathlon races until the age of 24. At the latest when Boris climbs on the bike, you can hardly keep up with him. The fastest bike split at 2017 Ironman Hawaii and an unofficial bike record in the 2019 edition prove his strength. An exciting performance analysis of the 2019 bike split by his coach Björn can be found on Boris’ homepage.
But it has not always been easy for him, because Boris had to take several breaks due to injuries. His coach Björn takes this into account when planning his training. Since the cooperation started at the end of 2018, his physical performance has not only stabilized, but his overall performance has also increased holistically – and lead to a 6th place of the German all-time leaderboard at an Ironman race thanks to a finish time of 7:49:14 hours.
By the way, we recommend the podcast Zielverpflegung by Boris Stein: very entertaining tri talk with exciting guests. And well-researched background information from the top communicator*.
