Jonas Kraienhorst
The man in whom not only professionals trust.
Jonas is practically a guarantor for the ideal
riding position and maximum wind-slip – and
he is a passionate cyclist himself.
Jonas may have said “head down” more often than most people have said “hello” in their lives. After all, less drag means more speed. When he’s not on his bike roaming the Rhenish environs, he’s responsible for the aero and bike fittings at the HYCYS location in Cologne. Since 2011, Jonas has supported athletes of different performance levels, including top-class athletes from professional cycling teams INEOS, Katusha-Alpecin and Movistar or triathlon pros Jan Frodeno, Sebastian Kienle, Patrick Lange, Bart Aernouts and Cameron Wurf. As our fine-tuning expert he knows exactly what to do to gain the decisive extra watts on the road to victory.
Using energy more efficiently in ultra-endurance sports was already the subject of Jonas’ bachelor’s thesis: “Recording of Parameters of Energy and Fluid Management in Ultra-Endurance Sports”. He is currently writing his master’s thesis on “The Physiological Effects of the Race Across America”. He has also accompanied this ultra-cycling classic for years as a coach, including as team leader of solo rider Stefan Schlegel. Maybe he will try his hand at it himself one day? Head down, Jonas – and go!
